Since its inception in 1985, the Mayfield Community Training Centre has made a hugely significant contribution to the Mayfield community through its provision of accredited training educational programmes, support services to early school leavers and the young unemployed people of the area.

The Centre was set up in 1985 to provide training for early school leavers and young unemployed persons from the area. It receives FAS, European and VEC funding and is managed by a voluntary Board of Management.

The Centre was very proud of the recognition received by art teacher, Brenda Stilwell at the first Mayfield Community Volunteer Awards in the Silversprings Moran Hotel, held on September 26th.

Mayfield Community Training Centre offers five core courses:

Health & Recreation
Additional classes in Art, Gym, Communications and Personal Development are also a part of the trainees' timetable. Each course lasts for twelve months with periods set aside for work experience.
A FAS training allowance is paid to each trainee regardless of age. Normal opening hours at the Centre are Monday to Thursday 8:45 to 4:45 and Friday 9:00 to 1:00.
